An assessment may motivate individuals to modify controllable risk factors such as smoking, physical inactivity and obesity, all of which may increase one's risk of stroke.  A stroke risk assessment is not a diagnosis and does not exclude the need for one.  An assessment does not take the place of a regular medical exam by a physician.

Our stroke risk assessment includes:
 • Personal/family medical history
 • Carotid bruits (detection of turbulent flowing sounds heard on the 
    carotid artery.)
 • Blood pressure measurement
