Driving Directions

BY TRAIN
By SEPTA surface trains

Take the regional rail system to Suburban Station and either walk south on 18th street to Graduate Hospital at 18th and Lombard street, or proceed to 17th Street and J.F.K. Boulevard where you can board the #2 bus going south on 17th. The #2 bus stops at 17th and Lombard Streets. Walk one block from there to the hospital entrance at 18th and Lombard Streets. Also available is the #17 bus going west on J.F.K. Boulevard which stops at 19th and Lombard streets.

By PATCO Hi-Speed Line from New Jersey

Take PATCO Hi-Speed Line to 16th and Locust Streets. Proceed to 18th Street and walk south on 18th to the Graduate campus.

BY SUBWAY

Exit the Broad Street line at Broad and Lombard Streets. From that intersection take a SEPTA bus westbound on Lombard to 18th Street.
Exit the Market Street line at Suburban Station. Follow above directions from Suburban Station.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) serves Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania suburbs, and New Jersey Transit (NJT) serves New Jersey. Both lines use Broad Street. BY CAR

Graduate Hospital is easily accessible by all major highways and bridges. The hospital, Pepper Pavilion and Tuttleman Center are located in a one square block area bounded by 18th, 19th, Lombard and South Streets. The Graduate Hospital campus is approximately two minutes by car from Exit 40 (South Street) of the Schuylkill Expressway.

Interstate 95 (from the north)

Take I-95 South and exit at I-676 West (arrows point to “Central Philadelphia”). Follow I-676 West to I 76 East (arrows point to “Philadelphia Airport”). Continue on I-76 East to Exit 40, marked “South Street” (from the left side of the road.). At the light at the top of the ramp, turn left onto South Street. Continue east eight blocks to the Graduate Hospital campus.

Interstate 95 (from the south)

Take I-95 North and follow signs for I-76 West. (marked Central Philadelphia”). This will take you across the Platt Memorial Bridge. At the bottom of the bridge, make a left at the traffic light. This connector road will take you to westbound I-76. Bear left to Exit 40, South Street. At the light at the top of the ramp, turn right onto South Street. Continue to the Graduate Hospital campus, about eight blocks.

Interstate 76 (from the west)

Take I-76 East to Exit 40, (left side exit) which is the “South Street” exit. At the light at the top of the ramp, turn left onto South Street. Continue to the Graduate Hospital campus, about eight blocks.

Interstate 76 (from the east)

Take I-76 West to Exit 40, a left side exit marked “South Street.” At the light at the top of the ramp, turn right onto South Street. Continue to the Graduate Hospital campus, about eight blocks.

Benjamin Franklin Bridge (from New Jersey)

After crossing into Philadelphia, take I-676 West to I-76 east. Take Exit 40, a left side exit marked “South Street” off of I-76 East. At the light at the top of the ramp, turn left onto South Street. Continue to the Graduate Hospital campus, about eight blocks.


Walt Whitman Bridge (from New Jersey)

After crossing into Philadelphia, follow signs to I-76 West. Continue on I-76 West to Exit 40, a left side exit marked “South Street.” At the light at the top of the ramp, turn right onto South Street. Continue eight blocks east to the Graduate Hospital campus.

Betsy Ross Bridge (from New Jersey)

After crossing into Pennsylvania, take I-95 South to I-676 West (Central Philadelphia). Follow I-676 West to I-76 East (marked “Philadelphia Airport.”) Continue on I-76 East one exit to Exit 40, South Street. At the light at the top of the ramp, turn left onto South Street. Continue eight blocks east to the Graduate Hospital campus.

From the New Jersey Turnpike

Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 4. Take Rt. 73 north to Rt. 38 west to US 30. Take US 30 west over the Ben Franklin Bridge to I-676. Take the right "jughandle" turn to 6th Street south and follow to Lombard Street (about 10 blocks). Then, make a right on Lombard and travel west on Lombard Street to 18th Street. You may park in the Valet on Lombard Street or circle around the hospital by passing the main hospital, going left on 19th, and then make a left at South Street and go past 18th Street and into the Hospital garage at 1740 South Street.

PARKING

Graduate Hospital is located in Center City Philadelphia in the 1800 block bounded by Lombard Street and South Street . Self-parking is available in a multi-level garage at 1740 South Street, and at a surface lot on the corner of 18th and South Streets. Valet parking is available the entrance to the Pepper Pavilion (in the 1800 Block of Lombard Street) and at the Tuttleman Center located on the corner of 19th and South Streets. The Tuttleman Center is located directly across from the South Street entrance to the main hospital building.
